PCAOB Names Marty Baumann Chief Auditor

The PCAOB announced earlier today that it has named Martin F. (Marty) Baumann to the position of Chief Auditor and Director of Professional Standards. (See PCAOB press release.) Baumann moves into this position from his current position as Director of PCAOB's Office of Research and Analysis (ORA), a position he has held for the past three years. Prior to joining the PCAOB in 2006, Baumann had a 33 year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and as noted in PCAOB's press release issued today (and the earlier PCAOB press release when Baumann was first hired by the PCAOB in 2006), he was brought into serve as EVP Finance of Freddie Mac in 2003, after problems were identified at the company, to lead the completion of the company's restatement and improve its financial reporting.

Hopefully this schmuck will hang himself as well. This man is despised by virtually everyone who wroks with and for him. He famously invited everyone who worked for him at the PACOB to a happy hour and then sent them all a subsidised bill the next day. Fired from Freddie for not being able to get the job done, walks away with 2.7 million his last year there and the PCAOB is dumb enough to hire him as the Chief Auditor.

You don't know the half of it. Marty is a real 'winner'.... Should have seen him at the 'party' this week.... I think there is more dirt out there on him than just billing us for that happy hour last year.... Too bad the others are afraid to talk in public about what many of us say over the 'water cooler'.... Some of the stories and so-called rumors would raise some real questions about his integrity. How could they choose him for this job given what's been in the papers over the past several months....
